Dare to explore the wilderness of the sanctuary after dark! Your guide leads you through the eerie sights and sounds of New Zealand’s native forest at night in search of rare and endangered species, including those that only emerge under the cover of darkness. Encounter spooky critters like wētā, glowing glow worms, and the ancient tuatara. Keep your eyes peeled for the elusive little spotted kiwi—though their haunting calls may be heard, sightings (while common, at 80%) are never guaranteed!

Dress up in your best Halloween costume (but don’t forget sturdy shoes and warm layers to brave the night!), as there will be prizes for the most frightfully fun outfits and plenty of treats on hand for those brave enough to join us!
