To self-guide around the sanctuary, buy a Zealandia General Admission ticket.

This gives you access to over 32km of tracks where you can spot abundant wildlife among the regenerating forest. You can also check out the indoor exhibition and see a life-size moa, learn about the natural history of New Zealand and understand how Zealandia came to be.

This pass is valid between 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. (4:30pm in the winter)

Last entry to the sanctuary is at 4:00 pm.

Visitors generally spend 2-3 hours in the sanctuary, but you can make a whole day of it! Take your time while exploring – stop and listen for birds that may be hiding just out of sight. Pack water and snacks or have a delicious meal at our onsite café.

General admission tickets are valid for two consecutive days within 3 years of purchase. These tickets make a great gift too, simply purchase this ticket and give the receipt/ticket number to the recipient to present at the front desk of the Visitors Centre. Tickets are valid for 3 years.
